PUBLIC WORKS INSTITUTE...
...is a 90 hour, four phase training program in Supervision and Management taught by Public Works practitioners and aimed at Public Works employees. This course is the fourth of the four and will be a hands-on, practical approach dealing with local real world issues facing today's Supervisors and Managers. Topics include:
Module 4. Advanced Public Works Management
> Budgeting Process, Financing & Strategic Planning
> Defining Excellence > Employee Training
> Motivating/Inspiring Employees
> Information/Records Management
> Ethics > Personal Assessment > Leadership Styles
> Workplace Safety
> Community Diversity and Customer Service
> Public, Media and Council Relations > Promoting Public Works
> Municipal Planning and Urban Development

Note: Mods 1, 2 or 3 are NOT a prerequisite for taking Mod 4.
