Building Official – Building & Safety
Infrastructure Engineers is requesting resumes for a qualified Building Official to join our Building and Safety Team in the City of Adelanto, California. The qualified candidate will plan, organize, and manage all building division functions that include plan check, inspection, building permit issuance and will serve as acting City Building Official providing enforcement and interpretation of all State of California and local building codes, ordinances, and regulations related to safety, construction, and occupancy of structures. The candidate will work under the general supervision of the Company’s Vice President for Building & Safety.
Requirements
· Certification as ICC Building Official or registered civil engineer in California
· 5+ years of experience for Municipal Building Departments or as a consultant
· 2+ years of Management/Supervisory responsibility
· Strong leader who is highly motivated and organized
· Comprehensive knowledge of recent Federal, State, and Municipal rules, regulations and codes related to construction
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Exceptional customer service skills
· Knowledge of using technology
· Experience with electronic plan review
· Valid CA Class “C” Driver’s License
· CASp Certification is a plus
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· ICC Building Plans Examiner
· ICC Building Official
· ICC multiple trades preferred
· Professional Civil Engineer a plus
· A minimum of 3 years of experience in reviewing construction plans
