We are also looking to increase our member base so please help us and refer anyone you think is eligible to this page! 

A person is eligible to be a part of the APWA SoCal YP group if they are:

1) Under 35. 

2) Working for a Public Works Municipality, Government Agency, and/or a Private Company that works closely with Public Works.

3) A student in a field of study directly related to Public Works, Engineering, and/or Public administration.

4) A member of APWA.



We are currently looking for volunteers for several things:

  • Become an Engineer - presentations to inner city schools throughout Southern California
    • February 18-24 is Engineers Week
    • Become an Engineer is a program that has been instated for many years.
    • You will perform a 1-2 hour presentation with one other person to a classroom of High School Juniors/Seniors who are in advanced math or science classes to encourage them to pursue Engineering disciplines in college.

  • Young Professionals Golf Team

    • Do you play? Does anyone in your firm/agency play? Lets get a team together! Tee time is TBD on May 11th, 2018.

  • Complete Streets and Technology Conference

    • We are looking for volunteers to man the table, hand out information, and answer general questions.
    • This would be a good opportunity for anyone looking to network with Southern California professionals and gain exposure at the largest local conference in our region.

  • Insight Article submissions
    • We support the Insight publication by writing 4 articles each year, one per quarter.
    • Quarter 1 has already been taken but we do need volunteers for the remaining three quarters.
    • If you like to write, if you plan to be involved, if you want your name in a publication that circulates around Southern California to 1500 professionals in the Industry, then email Sarah Terry at for more information.
