Description :

New State laws regulating Accessory Dwelling Units or “ADUs” took effect on January 1, 2017

The laws are intended to address California's shortage of affordable housing as housing production is not keeping up with the demand for housing.

However, these new laws have the potential to increase residential densities, resulting in impacts on local government and its infrastructure such water, electricity, sewer, traffic, parking, etc.

Haven’t had time to deal with it or not an issue yet—Get a quick download from a Public Works Staff panel who is familiar with handling these new, potential growing issues, their lessons learned and bring back info to share with your fellow staff.

  • Is your Public Works staff aware of the new ADU State laws?
  • What should the Planning & Engineering communities do to proactively address these issues?
  • Are there legislative, financial or political responses that can be taken to address these issues?A

Please join us for panel discussion to share ideas and potential solutions to effectively address the new ADU regulations
